A Practical Eye with a Creative Past

Hi, I’m Leona Ebert. I wasn’t always someone who reviewed products for a living. Before this site took the shape it has today, it had quiet roots in the world of creative design.

It originally belonged to a sculptor whose work captured the beauty of ordinary materials scrap wood, wire, fabric reimagined into something playful and thoughtful. That spirit of curiosity stuck with me.

I come from a background in product development and design research. After earning my degree in industrial design.

I worked with small brands helping them prototype household products things like kitchen tools, home organizers, and personal care items. I got used to asking one question over and over: Does this actually make life easier?

What This Blog Is For

In 2025, I launched this review blog to help people make smarter, less stressful buying decisions. I live in a modest home just outside Columbus, Ohio, with a rescue dog named Tobi and far too many coffee mugs. I spend my days testing, comparing, and writing about products I’d actually use whether it’s a well-made air fryer or a surprisingly good $15 flashlight.

What matters to me isn’t whether something’s trending or has thousands of five-star reviews. I care about how it performs in the real world how it feels in your hands, how it lasts over time, and whether it’s really worth the money.

A Straightforward Promise

I use this blog to share honest experiences. Some links may be affiliate-based, but every review is written independently, and nothing gets a free pass. If it disappoints me, I’ll say so. If it impresses me, I’ll explain why.

If you’re someone who wants thoughtful, no-nonsense reviews that feel like they came from a friend who actually tried the thing, you’re in the right place.

Thanks for stopping by.
